I'm trying to use NCL (DEC CMIP) over TCP/IP from a Digital UNIX system
to manage a DECNIS system.
"DECnet/OSI for Digital UNIX T3.2B (Rev. 23.47)"
"Digital UNIX V3.2D-1 (Rev. 41)"
Access using the host name of the DECNIS works.
Access using the address leads to the message
ncl>set ncl transport=tcp
ncl>sho node 16.185.8.9 name
'CONNECT ERROR: Unrecognized node name'.
What is the correct IP address syntax that I have to use?
Thanks
John

I think you're out of luck with the current executable. It
looks like tere's no provision for handling internet addresses.

Thanks for the info. Any plans to put this small item on your to do list for the next version? Or do you need an IPMT? ;-) John | |||||

A level 3 IPMT or qar would be the appropriate way to go ....
