I heard on the news this morning that a Fishing Trawler returned to Boston this morning with a 40' Sailboat caught in it's nets. If I recall correctly they were about 20 miles off the coast in 280 feet of water. Apparently they picked it off the bottom. It came from Washington DC, but I don't remember the name. The Coast Guard has no report of a missing or overdue boat. Strange, makes one wonder what it was doing out there! Anyone else hear more details? I caught the report on the 6 am news, and the Coast Guard was just showing up to look the boat over. Mark

Latest report I heard (about 11:00 AM) was that it belonged to someone
from the greater Boston area (Salem?) and that he had been rescued in a
dinghy sometime last fall, after getting off a distress call to the
Coast Guard. What will be interesting is to see a report on why it sunk
and whether it had all of its gear (electronics, ground tackle, etc.)
still on board---maybe I'm just too suspicious.
