TeamLinks 2.7 is running in a client server environment on
some PCs and it is running locally on others. These PCs are
also running the McAfee VShield virus scanner. On the PCs
with TeamLinks installed locally everything is fine. On
the PCs with TeamLinks installed across the network and
Vshield running it takes approximately 60 to 65 seconds for
the Information Manager Window to appear. Customer claims
they can see the screen painting.
If the Vshield application is not started then Infoman
window displays in the normal time. The long delay in
the Infoman window displaying appears only to happen
on client server installs, the local installs works fine.
They were running 2.5 in client server and there was not
the delay in loading Infoman.
Did something change with 2.7 that should cause this?
Loading Lotus, Word or Excel across the network with
Vshield running does not take this long.
Thanks,
Beth Andres

Hi Beth, A few questions... 1) What version of McAfee VSHIELD? 2) What are the startup parameters for VSHIELD? 3) Is TeamLinks installed on PC's running Win 3.?? or WIN95? I just noticed in OAD_97 that you asked the customer to disable the scanning of the .DLL files. Did that speed things up? Joe | |||||
