I heard this on the radio this morning: Apparently the Elk/Deer in several areas of the Rockies are having a tough time finding food in the high country so they are ranging much lower than normal. In northern Colorado a coal train killed an entire heard of two dozen animals. In another area of Colorado they are averaging five deer kills per night on a particular streach of hi-way. DOW is planning to start air drops of food to try to keep them in the high country. d.t.
