I get the following error box when I open a
fileview window:
There was an error opening your profile file.
Invalid record format.
I also get this message when I try to do anything
with an individual file. I am running VMS 5.1 on a
Vaxstation 2000. Can anyone help me out?
I looked through the fileview keyword notes and searched
by various keywords but haven't seen this particular error
yet.
One more thing, if I open a terminal window I have
no problem.

There must be something wrong with your DECWUSER_DEFAULTS:VUE$PROFILE.VUE$DAT file or with one of the VUE$LIBRARY:*.VUE$DAT files. Poke around. -steve- | |||||

Thanks Steve,
I deleted my old VUE$PROFILE.VUE$DAT and let FILEVIEW
create another one the way it wants. I had just transfered my
files from an equivalent decwindow V5.1 system and this was
the only problem I hit. I believe it may have been caused by
the fact my previous system was LAVC and my current one is
RSM standalone. Anyway it worked.
