I want to use AUTOCAD on my office But also nead decwindows!. since
AUTOCAD is not suported under Decwindows VMS but is supported on
the DECstation 3100 under decwindow. could I run Autocad on a
say decstation 3100 or 5000as a server and allow users on the VMS
cluster running Decwindows to set host to the Decstation and run
AUTOCAD.
Will this work??
If so would the 5000 suport say 6 users run auotcad at the same time?
after all it has as more mips as my 8800?
thanks for any input

It may also be possible to use the VWS version of AUTOCAD on your
VMS/DECwindows workstation IF you can live with a MONO only version
for a while. The UISX product will allow "most" VWS applications
to work on VMS/X11 -- BUT the color version of AUTOCAD uses the DOP
interface which is NOT supported.
See the UISX conference on VWSENG::
