I have "upgraded" my v1.1 bms demo station with the concentrator am,
the snmp am and the tsam am but now run into a strange problem.
The toolbox icons for the am's overwrite each other. The icon is ok but
the text description below will overlap the icon beside. Most noticable
is the concentrator icon.
The question is how do I move these icons apart so that the display is
readable. Doing a demo with the toolbox as it currently is leads the
customer to believe the product is immature but feature rich.
A five minute solution would be most appreciated, but I'm not holding
my breath. I have had numerous customers point out the garbled text in
the navigation window. The solution is of course to run Motif.

Its a "bug" in V1.1 that isn't easily fixed (thats the bad news). The good news is that it is fixed in V1.2 (available soon). | |||||

That's the answer I'm hearing more and more lately, especially with
other products.
As an aside, up here in Canada we are finding a pent up demand for the
services that DECmcc provides/will provide. The telco's are really
interested in the OSI/CMIP AM, and the PNMP announcements.
I am doing demos weekly to large government departments who are just
awakening to the somber task of integrating large networks. If we
deliver all that was presented at the v1.2 seminar, this product will
be a winner.
The biggest challenge will be in the desktop space. If we can survive
and manage this area we stand a very good chance of becoming 'the
standard' for large government networks, at least here in Ottawa.
