838.0. "alphaserver 400 clock/video problem" by UTRTSC::WIJNGAARDEN () Wed Feb 12 1997 13:18
Alphaserver 400 clock + video problem.
Configuration Alphaserver 400 4/233
All three PCI slots filled.
- DE435 ethernet controller
- KZPSM scsi +ethernet combo board
- ZLXP-e1 graphics card
No ISA boards
Alphaserver 400 running Digital unix V3.2-G suffers clock problems
and problems to setup video colors.
The system clock looses time (few minutes a day) especial when
performing high i/o to the disks behind the KZPSM scsi controller.
We already replaced the system board , cpu board and video controller
for these problems without success.
We also upgraded the firmware to the highest level (V3.8 CDROM)
Is it supported to have the KZPSM (both scsi and ethernet used)together
with 2 other controllers on the PCI bus.
All 3 PCI slots filled but in this case 4 devices using i assume 4 IRQs.
According to the manual IRQ settings checks ISA first and assigns free
IRQs to PCI. should be enough free because there are no ISA controllers
installed.
Has someone got a similar configuration running
Any other suggestions or ideas?
