Rich,
The replacement of incbaselevel is shorten_branch. If there's other information
not in the manpage that you need, please let us know at ode@rust or decwet::ode.

Mike,
Does shorten_branch other than shortening the branches:
- Mark the RCS tree with a baselevel string?
- Increment the revision level number(s)?
I am told that incbaselevel did all of the above.
Thanks in advance,
Rich

Rich,
You need to run markrcs after running shorten_branch. I'm not positive, but I
don't think incbaselevel did this. markrcs will mark the tree with the baselevel
name.
If you run 'shorten_branch -number 1' then you should end up with 1 (or 2
maybe) revisions on the next higher branch of each file.

When shorten_branch runs, it complains when it finds ".BCSlock". The problem
is that shorten_branch is placing .BCSlock in the tree.

Subj: Incbaselevel
In version 2.0 of ODE the release notes states that incbaselevel is no
longer supported. Is there a replacement procedure that provides the same
functionality that incbaselevel had? I am supporting Locus Computing
(unofficially) and they need to know this.
