| I put huge notices up everywhere that I could think of a month before the
systems went off the easynet. I got lots of grumbling mail, but no one
offered to host the information. Now it's gone. For technical questions,
use the webforum that you get to by going to the AltaVista software home
page, then push the help button at the bottom, followed by the technical
support link.
If anything is missing internally and you can't find it anywhere, let me
know and I'll get it up somewhere. I've got a machine and an IP address
and as soon as I have some spare time I'll put it up on the red net.

| I copied pages ON tunnel.ljo.dec.com the last day and now accessible via
http://www.tko.dec.com/tunnel/ .
Pages are served "as is" (no link adjustment has made), so some links may
work and some other doesn't.
Questions and getting the latest information about AltaVista Tunnel
should go support.altavista.software.digital.com/ .

| .1 stated that software could be ordered through SSB or from the
AltaVista Web server. I assumed from this, probably incorrectly, that
I could place a cost center order, at the Digital internal prices,
right from the AltaVista Web server. Is this in correct? Said another
way, is the only way to get the Digital internal price to order through
SSB?
Thanks

| By the by, I think these are the correct part number for the various
AltaVista Tunnel flavors:

| RE: .22
Last time I looked, there were no such thing as "Digital internal
prices" for AltaVista products. Due to the
at-arm's-length-subsidiary nature of AltaVista, we must pay the same
price as anyone outside Digital.

| 4166.25 | web pointer for ordering tunnel from SSB | PARZVL::ogodhcp-125-128-124.ogo.dec.com::kennedy | nuncam non paratus | Wed Jan 29 1997 12:33 | 9 |
| I think we do get a break on the tunnel software (I was charged
$21.40 - isn't it sold externally for $39.00) when we order
thru SSB.
The CCS Tunnel Service now has a (new) web page to do the SSB order
(you fill in the form, it sends the mail to SSB) follow the
links for acquiring the tunnel software at
http://www.imc.das.dec.com/imcdocs/tunindex.htm

| AltaVista software is available at IEG prices, which are significantly reduced.
The tunnel client, for instance, normally costs $99.

| AltaVista Search My Computer Private eXtension is $5.00, however, you
have to pay a $5.00 handling charge. Therefore, the first kit is
$10.00 and all others are $5.00.
