I've got an AltaVista SearchPX My Computer V1.0 from the Software
Connectivity Symposium. All it indexes is my Exhcange mail. No
matter how many times I configure for my documents or re-install
it, it does not index my documents. And it indexes nothing if
Exchange mail is taken out. Has anybody experienced this and found
a fix?

All I can say is that it indexes a bunch of Word documents and text files for me on my machine. I have no Exchange mail. Did you check the list of file types that AV/SMCPE will look at (the "File Types..." button on the "Documents" dialog)? --PSW

There is a known bug in V1.0. If you rename "My Computer" to something else, and the new name is exactly 2 bytes long, then documents will not be indexed correctly. The fix is to change the name to anything that isn't two bytes long. Hugh Thomas Project Manager AltaVista Search My Computer
