4502.0. "Can't "search site" with Enterprise Server on Digital UNIX 3.2C" by AZUR::KARTMANN (KARTMANN Emmanuel) Tue Feb 25 1997 04:55
-- I installed the Enterprise Server 2.01 on Digital UNIX 3.2C, and
the INDEX DOCUMENTS feature doesn't work !?!??
I created a collection, but when I access the index (/search/iaquery), I
got an "Server Error". When I launch the corresponding script from
the UNIX prompt, I've got this message:
% /usr/local/ns-home/plugins/search/vsearch/iaquery
iaquery: /sbin/loader: Fatal Error: cannot map libvdk150.so
I've found the library, set the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH to
the correct value, and got ANOTHER error message:
% setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/local/ns-home/bin/https
% /usr/local/ns-home/plugins/search/vsearch/iaquery
iaquery: /sbin/loader: Error: unresolvable symbol in iaquery:
__cxx_gem_dispatch
iaquery: /sbin/loader: Fatal Error: this executable has unresolvable
symbols
Is there an incompatibility in the shared C++ libraries ? I installed
the SAME server on Digital UNIX 4.0, and everything's fine...
If someone has already had this type of problem, please let me know (reply by
email directly).

| 4502.1 | check the enterprise release notes | GYRO::CAETANO | Greg Caetano ZKO2-2M17 381-1338 | Wed Feb 26 1997 11:10 | 14 |
| The Enterprise Release notes state you must load a
particular version of the C++ shared libraries to
get search to work.
This requirement was placed on the product due to
some link resolutions with the Verity search engine.
If you run plugins/search/vsearch/iaquery by hand, you will see the message:
./iaquery: /sbin/loader: Fatal Error: cannot map libcxx.so
Contact Digital technical support to get libcxx.so
(also known as: CXXSHRDAE01307).
