For some months I have been using Netscape 3 from the Admin acc on my NT Server 4.0 workstation. However, logging in as 'John' (in administrators group with all user & file/directory permissions set) - I cannot reach ANY destination if proxies are set (internal or ext) - I CAN reach any internal page if proxies are not set If I log back in as administrator they all work. I tried reinstalling NS from the user account and no change... Any suggestions... John PS IE works just fine (but I prefer NS!)

when setting proxies, you're not setting something in the SOCKS field,
are you? and you are putting ".dec.com" in the no-proxy field?

weeeird.... yup - that works: removed the socks proxy entry (left 'no proxy for' as 'dec.com'). what I still don't understand is why the SAME set-up (i.e. SOCKS proxy set) works when logged in as Administrator but not as a normal user. thanx | |||||
