Hi,
Sorry if this question has been asked before in this conference:
After spending years using NOTES on EASYNET, I am trying to open
my horizons and explore USENET Newsgroups.
I am using Netscape 2.02 on Windows 3.1.
On NOTES I used to do a lot of searches with :
DIR/TITLE=<keyword> and SEARCH <keyword>
Is it possible to do the same thing (or have the same effect) on
a particular Newsgroup ?
Does one need another piece of software to do that ?
I am aware that AltaVista Searches are possible on USENET but can you
restrict the searches to a particular Newsgroup ?
Thanks in advance
William

DejaNews (www.dejanews.com) is quite comfortable for searching
newsgroups.

Check out http://www.dejanews.com -- it's got advanced search
capabilities.
Also check out the help in AltaVista -- it tells you how to limit searches
to a particular newsgroup (i.e. newsgroups:rec.music.folk).
