Can WS FTP be used to transfer files from an outside
location? It has alot of proxy setup stuff, but it's confusing
to me - not as easy to understand as Netscape's proxy configuration.
Has anybody gotten it to work?
Thanks,
James

You can pull through the firewall, but you can't push unless you have a
cryptokey. The WS_FTP setup has probably been documented in here
before, but here goes:
In the advanced window, check the Use Firewall box. Then, in the
Firewall Information, enter:
Host Name: ftp-gw.pa.dec.com
User ID:
Password:
Port: 1555
And pick the "USER with no logon" radio button for Firewall Type.

That helps - I was trying to configure it to use the FTP
proxy server www-proxy.pa.dec.com:8080. I have another utility
called WinDownload that could be set up this way, but I guess
WS FTP doesn't work like that.
Thanks a bunch,
James
