4595.0. "Evaluating ACCESS.LOG (-Crawlers, any recommended tools)" by PKGSRV::JANES (Lester Janes dtn 474-6631) Mon Apr 07 1997 11:24
I would like to evaluate my ACCESS.LOG to determine which information I
am serving is accessed the most and and least. I have two questions:
1) What are our (Digital's) internal web crawler addresses, so I can
strip them from ACCESS.LOG before I evaluate?
2) What is a quick and dirty tool that I can use to look at my most
active and least active urls?
I am not very UNIX sophisticated, so I copied ACCESS.LOG to a VMS
system and doing a visual scan of the data. I can write a VMS command
procedure to search for info, but if there is an internal tool that
other Digital Web servers are using for evaluating ACCESS.LOG I would
use that.
Any information or tips is appreciated.
Thanks,
Lester

Try Astra SiteManager (a visual Web site management tool) from Mercury
Interactive. They have a free evaluation offer of their products at
