Ericsson's Phone Doubler allows an Internet subscriber to use one telephone line for both voice communications and Internet access. Subscriber installs Phone Doubler software on multimedia PC. Provider installs Phone Doubler hardware and software that acts as a bridge between PSTN ans IP connections. It relies on the call forwarding function performed by the telephone network to encode the voice for transmission over an IP packet stream. For more information see http://www.ericsson.com/ . Unfortunately, they only have press releases, but I have a moe technical borchure describing it's capabilities. Is anyone in Digital looking at this technology in support of telecommuters, for example? Ed
