Hello,

Does anybody has the same problem?

When I edit a page on my own server (Netscape Fasttrack server 2.0 on Digital
UNIX) using Frontpage Extensions and the Frontpage 97 client, when I "save"
the updated page, I receive a message that somebody else already did it just
now!

Then if I go to Internet Explorer (or netscape) and refresh (reload) the page,
nothing is updated...

I looked at source code of the page in the directory, the page is updated!

It seem that Netscape Fasttrack Server doesn't update the CACHE of the server
because if I stop the server and restart it, the updated page appear...

Any idea?

(note: I was running Commerce server before and had the same problem, so I
reinstalled fasttrack but the problem is still the same)

Milan, I've had lots of trouble with Netscape seeing changed. Sometimes only a restart shows
the new stuff. Another thing to look for if you publish to DUNIX, I have a soft link for my home
page to index.html. For some reason after I publish with frontpage the soft link becomes a real
file of the *old* page. Then I can't see the new page till I delete index.html and redo the

Normally, after publishing the new page, I have to stop and restart the
Server. I tried to wait a bit (days...). The changes I did on Monday are still
not applied on my server. It seem that the cache has no reason to be updated
because the server don't see any change...

And the page I changed was the home page! Not a softlinked on nor a user file,
a.s.o. The real true index.html!!!

Is it the same for everybody?

Milan, if you type out index.html do you see the correct data? Can you access it with a
browser using a file path (not using the server) and see the correct data? I'm using the
Apache server myself but have had similar sorts of problems. If I try to edit my FP files
later with Netscape Gold things really get ugly. liesl

Yes, the file has been replaced and is correct. If I browse the file
index.html, the file is the latest one.

More than that: If I stop the server and restart it, all is updated!

It seem that the server didn't see the "last" page because I receive this
strange message that the file changed at the same time I publish the new one.
It looks that the server receives the notification but don't loads the last
one. If I do several "publish", nothing changes.

Strange, isn't it?
